Specific Material Description

HMPE 500 is an unfilled high molecular weight polyethylene which has very good mechanical and thermal properties within the group of polyethylenes. In addition to its highest tensile strength and stiffness amongst the polyethylenes, this material offers a very good (notched) impact strength and a negligible humidity absorption.
The maximum allowed continuous service temperature in air is 80 °C with the option of short term temperature peaks up to 100 °C.
